Watering Down

I have a friend who cannot drink commercially prepared orange juice, unless she adds at least 50% water to whatever the size of the container might be; for example, an eight oz. container of juice must receive a four oz. container of water to it, in order for her to drink any portion of it. I am fairly sure that she is not the only person that is faced with that dilemma. Actually, all of the commercial juices that she drinks must be diluted.

Now when it comes to a person’s health, or even their personal taste, it is not uncommon for someone to “water down” the strength of the commercialized product, prior to consuming it. However, when it comes to the preaching and teaching of the Word of God, this practice is not applicable.

Allow me to define what I mean, when I say “watering down Christianity”: the full gospel, as outlined in the Scriptures, is not being preached. Many bible principles are not being upheld by those who have been committed to preach the truth of God’s Word to the masses; other “alternative facts” are being introduced to substitute for what God has actually said.

Allow me to point out just a few examples:

1.     John 1:1-4; 14; Ephesians 3:9; Colossians 1:16-22 – give us clear evidence that Jesus is the Word of God; that He existed before the creation of the world; that He became flesh (i.e.) a human and lived among mankind; and that He was the creator of all things. He did it for the purpose of reconciling or reuniting us to God, as well as, to fulfill all of the prophecies that had been written beforehand of Him – Matthew 5:17-19. However, there are those who would teach that Jesus was a “created” being, rather than the creator of all things.

2.     Acts 4:10-12 – declares that “Jesus/Yashua”, the Messiah is the only way that one can be saved. However, there are those, among Christians, who declare that there might be an alternative way for salvation.

3.     John 14:15 – declares that “If we love God, we will keep His commandments”. However, there are those who would argue that His commandments are no longer binding and they do not need to be observed. However, sheer logic dictates that if you want to live in the kingdom of God, you must obey His rules, just like you must obey the rules of your state or country.  As a matter of fact, in Revelation 22:14, God states that those who have actually kept or observed His commandments are to be blessed with the right or privilege to eat of His tree of life.

There are so many other examples that I could state, in addition to expounding on the ones that I have just mentioned, which clearly show that “Christianity” is not being taught with the full force or power, which it commands to be taught. As a result, so many Christians, who fail to earnestly study the Word of God for themselves, are being deceived. They are drinking “watered down Bible teachings”, which will leave them knocking on the door for entrance; but entry will not be allowed to them. Matthew 7:21-23; Matthew 25:1-12; Luke 13:24-28 KJV; Luke 13:24-28 CEB.

I have learned that when it comes to my salvation, I cannot rely on anyone else, to tell me the way of salvation. They can point me to the Bible, but I must study and read it for myself, if I am to gain assurance of what God has bidden me to do, live and believe. I encourage you to do the same, which is why I hyperlink all of the Scriptures that I reference, or that I do not copy verbatim and include in the readings. I pray that you are reading and praying over all of them for yourselves. We each must give an account for the things done in our bodies and for what we accept as truth – Romans 14:12.
